maybe there was
some time in October
when something
did not pass me by,
with a song behind it
named
"Just pretend "
until then, I was doing just fine
until I wasn't fine anymore
because I thought your eyes held stars
and I started to believe it
and ironically,
I was happy
because it was only a kiss
that happened when the world wasn't ready,
and neither was I
but still,
we had more than one
in places
where we did not need light to see
but you know,
a lot of things
can't live forever
because I don't believe in paradise,
and you said you could
believe for both of us
all I had to do
was stay
but I couldn't, so
I ran away
like a hypocrite
but I know you won’t let me go
not because I’ll see you again
but because every time I close my eyes
you are still there
asking me to hold you closer
but all of this
started with a kiss
maybe I'll know someday
