darkness is the lack of light,
it is birthed from what it lacks:
light's daughter, not her opposite,
(such is the blossom of our crimes
birthed from bosoms lacking
fireflies, fireflies, the synonym of light,
captured in a moment's gaze
perpetually fluttering,
intangible and tangible
the fire burns, but still untouched, what is light but
steam, air, sound, and energy
the buzzing lamp, the buzzing crowd,
concrete, sulfur, traffic lights, spinning round,
blurry human waves

Ripped up notebooks, dripping ceiling
breathless, crushing last week's
youtube-you-hate-you binge,
blue light, acne, scrolling
