Snow White
A princess pure
The Evil Queen
With a trap to lure
But what if Snow White
Was not what she seemed
And darkness lurked
Within her dreams?
What if the Evil Queen
Her stepmother
Was not as terrible
As we tell one another?
Why do we twist
The stories so?
Hiding their meanings
In tales of woe?
Perhaps indeed
We tell the truth
Or maybe, just maybe
They're unfounded roots
So what really happened
To White as Snow?
And what of the Queen
Her only foe?
Guess what
My readers dear
No one knows
And so they fear
