For when someone reveals themselves to you, see them.
No use in painting another picture without the power to erase and repaint their past.
You have no right to alter the brushstrokes of who they are.
You can only change how you choose to see. To love them, stand by them, or support them – the choice is solely yours.
Through every season of their journey.
You cannot erase their past, but you surely can see their growth. You cannot ignore their flaws, but choose to see their compassion.
Sometimes, the only thing you can do for your loved ones is just to be there, every day. And that in itself is enough. <3
You cannot change the picture or even the direction it’s going or anything that makes it the masterpiece that it is. Change your perspective.
And in that shift, you can discover the beauty in each flaw, the strength they carry, and the wisdom from surviving it all.
It is not for you to fix the broken pieces, but to hold space for healing. To choose to see them, to really, truly see them for everything that they have and are.
Love is not about changing someone, no. It’s about witnessing them and in those moments, you begin to see them and yourself with a little more grace.
