On my shoulder Sits a new tattoo Was it for me? Or was it for you A symbol of peace Entwined by a rose An image of beauty One could suppose What could be wrong With love and peace? A deeper meaning That one might perceive An image of peace Strangled by passion Kept imprisoned by thorns In a beautiful fashion Is this artwork for me Or is it for you The answer is both If I'm honest and true It's my peace and your love Memories of a gazebo kiss With a gentle reminder They can't coexist My peace has suffocated With every goodbye My heart has hardened No more tears left to cry The new symbol to remind me Of the pain day to day You once had my love But you threw it away No room for me in your life That's how you chose to live You took all I am There's none left to give
