I have a heart shaped bruise under my eye. It's from your hands and I know why. Fingers trace the cuts on my lips, the wounds in my mind, the bruise on my rib. Arms of trust and hands that held. You lost it all as I crawled back to my shell. Kicking.Screaming.Crying.Pleading. Poison was seeping while our hearts were weeping. Seething as I'm crawling. This eternal flame... I will love you forever, but I can't endure pain.
