flickering lights, dim hallway, burning outlets with no bulbs. their shadows move to the rhythm, timing in quarter pound pressure. whipping slowly sideways, silently down the hall, forgetting their musicians, from one outlet to another. forgetting to say almost always, leaving no steps to console, only half metered mesmerisms and a song no one can hear.
