You don't understand all the things I've kept inside The plain and simple truth that our tendencies collide Tonight I'm being shifted in ways I cannot hide So roam the empty pavement sea, walk here by my side By stumbling I'm spilling my entire tainted self Writing an extensive book to place upon your shelf Open it with cautious hands and keep in mind your health Then verify that what I've said wasn't dipped in stealth Read aloud the prologue and compare it to the end Tell me it's cohesive, an impeccably smooth blend And after you have finished I hope you won't pretend That I was seeing someone else when I called you my friend

I couldn't look you in the eye
