I'm a poet and didn't even know it
Someone bestowed the gift on to my heart.
But to be a poet I'm not very smart
I try to make it come from the heart
I try and try to be the best
but it is hard to beat the rest
I started this year at a young age
That's why I wrote this page.
I used to think poetry was boring
When I heard it i would be snoring
Now when I hear it I'm at the edge of my seat
Because I think poetry is so sweat
It don't have to be short or long
But it's like a song
But to be a poet you write from the heart
so you don't have to be smart.
So now you should be a poet
and actually know it
