What a roller coaster, David... just as I began to get lost in the sensuality... tragedy. But that's how it happens.  A beautifully written and sad remembrance.

This is a very finely crafted poetic pen gem David. So very poignant in content - the impact of first love never forgotten for all the years that follow in life - something very special about it and though the years may come and go, first love lives on forever in our hearts. You paint beautiful pictures throughout the poem with your artistic/poetic pen, of the happy times and of the sad times and I pray recovery wasn't too far ahead and that all is now well. It is ingenius to contrast the ending of the relationship with a fatal crash - your mind works so amazingly David! Wonderful smooth flow to the poem, through the swings and roundabouts of love. Hold on to the good memories and allow the not so good memories to drift away - they are not important now but the good ones are and should be treasured ad infinitum. Brilliant work David. I have enjoyed reading this poem so very much. Resurrected a memory of my own also - Thank You for so kindly sharing this superb write.
