On days I don’t get to see your face, I close my eyes and drift through space. And all that lingers, clear and bright, Are your deep eyes and your smile’s light. I feel you passing, calm and near, The way you always disappear. To all the world, we’re nothing more, Just strangers walking as before. But only I can truly trace The rush your presence leaves in place. A thousand sparks beneath my skin Each time your gentle breeze walks in. And when your voice falls softly by, My guarded heart forgets to hide. One single word, one fleeting tone, And suddenly I’m not my own. I never knew what love could do, Till life grew different after you. -v.

A Thousand Sparks
