As it should be. Everyone hits a block when they try to hard to produce epic and poetic. This should be fun, yes. I don't know about anyone else but I already have too damn much to think about in real life. To me, poetry is a vacation. I don't want to have to overthink it. I just write stuff.

I've been a repeat offender for attempting to construe poems from the literal denotations of its components, and that had made poetry less than enjoyable, and has strained me mentally. Before I had been immersed in poetry, essays were my craft. Communicating accurately, as well as precise and literal word choice was crucial. But in poetry, it is a much different realm. Forget the dictionary, and remember that it is the emotional and intellectual response that matters, not what the poem translates to in a literal sense. It is the shear obscurity and harmony that make it work, similar to an abstract painting. Remember this, and there is no bounds to what greatness and skill you may attain in poetry.
