She bore the wounds of forgotten yesterdays, Shattered from the depths below. Her strength, a flicker extinguished, Strings of anguish straining across her chest. All joy she surrendered; Tears ran like rivers of ash, Her smiles dissolved to dust, Her hair rose in silent revolt against the void. A shadow claimed her with cold hunger, From the high hill she fell, The valley of death swallowing her scream. Amidst the horror, a humming voice rose— Death itself, vibrating through the bones of the world. Her beauty drained into the gray ether, Her breath faltered, And the voice, unholy and eternal, Ulcerated the air, the earth, the heart of all things living
