Each soul and its secret sanctum,
Sacred to one’s own,
Wraps the source of every stream
Which brings life and light
Upon one’s visage.
Gently crafted, only one to fit,
So made, unbound,
Free to hold
What one wishes to fill—
Be it own or another.
What given shall grow and be guarded.
Safely sealed, mine;
A gem, dear to my living.
Through it, I see colours,
Feel life, know all,
Know me.
It shines, and life blooms within.
My heart swells with love for self
And acceptance.
This reflection I see—
How every part of me,
Perfectly flawed and formed.
As it grows, I am made known
Of things I love.
My desire to dream reached beyond the sky,
And I dwelt in peace of truly being me.
A treasure dared not to unfold
Until a new soul arrived.
Flooded my heart
In surging waves.
These wings fled
To a place unknown,
Where an hour felt
As fleeting as morning dew.
Each day turned into endless spring;
Joy that lingers
Even in rain.
Dreams and promises newly made
My guard dissolved,
Laid my armour to rest
And plunged into
Its dazzling sweetness,
Where love seemed never to run dry.
I sailed the depths in wonder,
seeking what lay beneath,
But found myself drowning,
as the hand I trusted slowly slipped away.
In disbelief, I sought the same soul for solace,
Only to find my despair speaks
when I give all and ask for little.
The same endures not forever,
But bends toward change;
And eternity is but mere paint.
With each passing moment, the air escaped my lungs.
Words once whispered ease
Now shatter each other’s spirit.
And the void began to settle,
Quietly beneath the warmth
That ebbed away.
Left behind my own dreams and dear self
And let another be my shadow—
In exchange for a drop
Of what once was sweet.
Emptied mine for another’s treasure
And became unknown to my own image.
In silence, my soul drifts through endless tears,
Until the pain underneath
Bursts in my veins.
I finally let go.
Once again, I unfolded the sanctum,
Yet this time, not for another.
