I drink Scalding Church coffee Bitter Dark In repurposed Starbucks cups Around the table And I have mastered The skill Of camouflage Like a good eldest daughter Voice high and pleasing Always sweet I have learnt The ability To shove down emotions Until a more Pleasing time Until they burst In a fervor from my throat Such voracious all consuming Sorrow Masquerading As rage I am an eldest daughter Who sits quietly And drinks Cold Church coffee

Eldest daughter
I drink Scalding Church coffee Bitter Dark In repurposed Starbucks cups Around the table And I have mastered The skill Of camouflage Like a good eldest daughter Voice high and pleasing Always sweet I have learnt The ability To shove down emotions Until a more Pleasing time Until they burst In a fervor from my throat Such voracious all consuming Sorrow Masquerading As rage I am an eldest daughter Who sits quietly And drinks Cold Church coffee
Any eldest daughters relate?
