Not Yet There

The interminable attention

penetrates my thoughts and heart.

Constant obsession.

His flattering words are simple,

but never spoken.

The effortless conversations,

and walks down the hall

are delightful,

but my heart is still beating at a regular pace.

His memory everlasting in his mind,

popping up throughout the whole day.

I wish I could coerce myself into love.

The sweet throat choking emotion,

that is always on everyone's mind.

Separate my thoughts and feelings.

Bare and afraid.

I don't want to hurt your newly healed heart.

Weak and still fighting for life.

Sight and sound slowly fading.

Will your feelings ever fade too?

By the way I tried to stop you,

but your admirable persistence will never end.

She will always struggle to gain back your love.

Maybe you shouldn't stop her just yet...
