We blamed it in the medicine (That **** doctor never knew what was good for you) But we knew. (We didn't) We blamed it on our mother How she never understood. (She tried) We blamed it on pixies, On feral children (I wove story after story, lie after lie.) I blamed it on the bones and cats ("Where are all the ******* knives?"mother asks ) "Why can I never have anything. " (We don't answer but we know why) One night I stole the rest of the silverware ( And never came home alive.)
