A song for unrest

So they tell me that your faith is sinking from opinions

of all the people

That's ok because I know I've been there once or twice

from all the people

There's been a time when everything fell down just as the rain

and I just stood there

staring off

doing nothing

giving up

on looking for something

You have to break into your heart for wisdom

when you feel like you can't do it today

You have to let go all that you keep hearing

when it sounds like garbage anyway

I see the waves inside your eyes

turning over and over

until they cross the tide

I believe the calm has come to rise

because the water's getting colder

it slowly brings the ice

...to freeze the pain

Emotions overwhelm the heavy hearted and the troubled

just the same

we can care for each other

lifting up one another

the hardened apathy

from complacency

towards the deeper side of life

comes from the beating down

of dreamers all around

so dominating will suffice

You have to break into your heart for wisdom

when you feel like you can't do it today

You have to let go all that you keep hearing

when it sounds like garbage anyway

move back from the trouble turn away

I see the waves inside your eyes

turning over and over

until they cross the tide

I believe the calm has come to rise

because the water's getting colder

it slowly brings the ice

...to freeze the pain
