Have you ever been crushed by a crush? Felt that their weight was just a tad too much? When they walk into a room---thump, thump, It accelerates as my esteem dumps. Too afraid to speak, For fear that they'd leave. Stitched my mouth with wire, Much to my own ire. She looks at me, I barely register, That she's speaking, And I've ignored her. I say something certainly awkward, And the conversation ends. Afterward, I wonder, Am I even her friend? Have you ever been crushed by a crush? Felt infatuation tugging too much? Brain circling with things to say, Not that I could speak to her; there's just no way. Her gravity would rip me apart, Any possibility of rejection would break my heart, And it's barely holding on. I guess, I'll wait till she's gone...
