From across the room he spotted her For a brief second there was uncomfortable eye contact Both from him & her Somehow it turned to flustered pink cheeks And puppet strings pulling her lips Into this mischievous smile He played scenes in his head Planning what he would say Unfortunately he did not seize the day And she walked away -elissette
