The Spell of David Ruffin

Some images you can't eradicate.

Some we all must simply embrace.

The spell of David Ruffin is all over the Temptations' legacy.

From the splits the moves, the swirls.

His legacy lives on with the handling of the microphone.

Who can't name a Ruffin's song?

All of his words sung understandable.

Oh, he mastered the lyrical style of good diction.

Just to search his time within the group.

You find him standing out ahead of the rest.

Paul Williams, Eddie Kendricks, yes, this group had the best.

But one left a spell that goes to higher length.

Especially when you hear his lead upon "My Girl."
