We are blessed with a child, let nature sing Let the spirit fly free from the grace of the wing Let loves voice be heard from heaven to earth And rock the cradle of this pure infant’s birth. The newborn is free from the care of the womb Dewy eyes slowly open like new buds in bloom Nurtured by mother’s shelter and God’s life cord First small breath of life, first moment adored. First light, first sight, first bellowing scream As translucent lids rouse from innocent’s dream Feeling life’s fresh breath on its tender new skin Greeted by beloved parents, weeping turns to a grin. serfinski
