To the girl I ride my bike with,
The warm afternoons we shared,
And the cold ones too,
Days I thought I'd have forever,
But now are memories I cherish.
The times we shared will get me through
Empty warm afternoons,
The space that's left – only a year,
But you're a year away from leaving forever.
Who'll fill the space you're gone?
No one's going to be there,
It's going to be empty for two more years.
No one tells you how much you'll miss
The space that's been filled, but now is empty.
Something only you feel.

I have this amazing friend that’s a couple years older than me at school. She left last year in June to sail around that world. In that time I have reflected over our friendship and how she helped me without knowing it. Now my poem might not make sense to some but it does to me.
