Nice piece. I think we use the word monster to make ourselves seem different to them. People also tend to say some people aren't human, but in reality being human is about the good, bad and unexplainable things we do.

Yes...our thoughts are sometimes monsters, but made out of ourselves...and we are not our thoughts, but that in which our thoughts appear...and we have come full circle!  :)

I'm gonna have to disagree.  Given how many planets there probably are with life in the infinite expanses of vast there are no doubt many creatures we would call monsters.  I would even go so far as to say that perhaps many of the monsters we do create  are a reflection of our awareness of this fact.

The thought is good, but doesn't reflect the six principles of haiku very well: kire, kigo, sabi, wabi, yugen and karumi. Haiku is more than seventeen syllables. I would also change the word made to make.
