why not me?

Just when I think you're looking at me, it hits me and blasts me. You weren’t after me, girl you had done looked past me. Girl of my dreams and that’s where u will stay, I push it down deeper…keeping my emotions at bay. I try for your heart and fall flat on my face. I have to keep going, I just keep my eyes straight, but even with the blinders I can still close my eyes and see that girl of my dreams looking back at me. Her big brown eyes, taking me all in. She rips me to pieces…it’s a thought that shouldn’t have been. Why won't you go away, o when will it end? I have tried so hard, what could I prove? That she would stoop to me? What do I have to do? I ask myself the question of why not me? Girl of my dreams some day we will have our day, but for now I must sit and watch as we grow further away of what could have been, should have been, but apparently wont have been with me.
