As embers glow And ashes stir in the wind Charred wood spills smoke Covering the stench of malignancy The lone wolf let's one last howl to the moon Begetting the dawn The next Cinderstave starts anew.... As night fades to dawn Shadows of night recede Alls awash in pre-day light Illuminates the scene Where a spire stood, the carcass Now charred bones and ash Gutted by vengeful fire For spirits of the past Within exposed foundation Are standing stones remains Laid beneath their sacred house Brought forth again by flames Sunlight crest horizon Brings forth another day Petrichor as the earth opens With the threat of rain The worst of storm has been weathered The Wretched temple scorched Victory for all mankind Wrought upon by scorn The graying heavens open up Tears fall from the sky Anoint and smother embers Extinguishing the fire
