I know who I was

I know who I want to be.
I remember what I thought
and I remember what I learned
for me to think as I do.
I don't know the future, but as it unfolds
I hope I do not forget what has passed
For it is passage to what is present.
In the present, I will use the past to map out my future.
The past is currently the blueprint for the future
