I loved you, Because I thought you understood me But your eyes, today, tell me That we were always strangers I loved you, Because I thought that the extras in you, Would fill up the deficiencies in me, But it wouldn't come about, As you and I were never meant to be Thinking back upon it, I realize now, All those times, I thought, somehow, I thought, but, wrong, For it was always the other way round. I thought you understood, I thought that you would Complete me in ways known to few, But now I know, that I thought all that Because I loved you. I loved you. I loved you, but you never did I loved hard, but from me, love hid So, now, I walk alone, Hands in pockets and a heart of stone Walking an untrodden path, That was, to a very few, known.
