Crazy that I read this right now, because I had such a battle with my own inner dialogue all through the night, telling me mostly what a shitty father I am, I let one of my daughters die, another gang raped at 14 and messed up for live, another 3 former step-daughters hate my guts along with my surviving natural daughter. It took some doing to get it to STFU and for me to believe my own protestations that I could possibly have done a better job with the tools and knowledge I had at my disposal, and finally get to sleep. I really hate that insipid inner voice, and makes me feel better to know I'm not alone in wrestling that bugger down to the ground sometimes! Well-penned!
