fading away

I lost you

and you lost me

tears and regrets

are gone now

your memory slowly

fades away

and the forget me nots

begin to wilt

I used to dream about you

at night

as the days ware on

you fade away.

I wake up lonely

on Christmas morning

to an empty stocking and bed

For a moment our song plays

we dance.

as I awake from my trance

I realize that you were make believe.

Just like Santa, and the Easter bunny.

You no longer exist.

Like childhood memories

you

fade

away
