i woke up and
sometimes in the quietest
of times i hear my own heartbeat
but i truly wanted to hear yours
beating together with mine
but oh how I worry and sigh
because there's this voice
inside my head telling me
"your hearts are never going
to beat side by side
as you will die unknown"
