I will be broken on Thursday It’s a factual thing to say You may try to dissuade me But I know, ‘cause I’m broken today Offer your words and your sympathies The cracked, the chipped china cup Lips try to kiss back missing pieces And so often they end up cut I will be broken on Thursday In filled rooms or all alone Proclaim how you empathize But it’s a burden I bear on my own The smile I project onto my face Is not to repair me, but you Love is never lost in the efforts conveyed But there’s only so much you can do I will be broken on Thursday A consistently cracked state of mind Tuesday disappointing, Wednesday disjointed But Friday has yet to decide
