She places little forget me nots All throughtout the house She tries to leave them everywhere To be found by her loving spouse Their twenty-first anniversary Will be celebrated tonight And she's found the perfect gift To make the evening bright Married out of high school To the first man she ever dated Her parents told her not to rush And wished she would have waited Her husband pulls in the driveway As she watches her plan unfold She hides out in the bedroom Where he'll find his *** of gold Her husband finds the note she left As a smile crosses his face He finds a second, then a third As he moves from place to place He makes his way to the bedroom And finds his wife upon the bed She asks him why he cheated on her Then puts a bullet in his head She walks quietly to the bathroom And runs herself a bath As she sits down in the water She starts to smile then laugh She reaches for the radio And pulls it in the water Sparks cover her body And a picture of her daughter The picture catches the curtains on fire As the ceiling comes tumbling down Happy anniversary the last note said As the house burns to the ground
