Night Skies

Once again, I’ve grown to despise the night

I loathe the moon and the stars in sight

Those lights I once loved, once held so dear

Now echo the memories I no longer wish to hear

The very ghosts of us they once recorded

Back when my love was the only truth I exhorted.

The moon and the stars, they knew it all

They caught every whisper, every rise and fall.

They listened in silence as my heart withdrew,

Memorizing every secret my soul gave to you.

And now, they betray me replaying the view

Singing your name in a harmony of blue

Now, when I gaze at the endless sky

It’s just a mirror of you, and I don't know why.
