Awaken Or not It feels that I’m trapped in a thought My eyes are closed Light oh so close beat beat beat I try to move Impossible it proves Panic sets in « Am I stuck like this? » Suddenly I wiggle a finger A light in the forest of fear I flutter my eyes, and look to the skies Awaken

I’ve had bad sleep paralysis my whole life and this is my attempt to make light of my greatest fear- being conscious but unable to move or wake up.
