My stomach is churning,
My head is throbbing
The pain is unbearable.
I can’t focus
I can’t think
Suddenly the pain recedes
I feel the soft warm fingers running through my hair
The hand pushing me down
Laying on my side
My head pillowed by a soft lap
The calming whisper of a voice
Telling me ill be ok.
So I sleep
The warmth wrapping around me
The voice calming me
The gentle fingers easing the pain away
I can think
I can focus
The pain is gone and sleep rules.
The vice whispers on and the fingers keep me safe.
