The perfection of the imperfect
is a hard concept to understand
It involves much introspection
and a little helping hand,
just as black makes white whiter
and dark makes light lighter,
you take my heart,
and you shape with your hands
the iconic little smiley face
that we carve in the sands
of the beach we used to love
on the coast we used to stay,
in another life on another day
