when the trees shine, i shine. like the headlights that pass when i look out the window. like the strike of a match, reflecting off the walls of a darkened room. like the touch of a mother, holding her daughter for the first time. when the trees shine, i shine. like the sun coming up on the lake in the morning. like the glow from a computer that lights up an empty office. like the face of a child opening a present on christmas morning. when the trees shine, i shine like the light from the streetlamps, that seeps in through the blinds. like the stars glinting brightly as i stare into the night sky. like the look in your eyes when they look back in mine
