Through my life I’ve gathered stones I wear them round my neck The burden of weight gets heavier When my shadow reflects I’m not complaining I don’t shed tears For I strung those stones throughout the years Thinking how when I was young Collecting stones just for fun But how I’ve grown to realise The wrong choices and words can chastise I look around but cannot see Other people just like me You see Everyone must have the same Some more some less but we all have shame I wait for the rain to erode them away But doing so they seem to stay So I guess someday maybe one day I’ll loose a few But not all of them For I deserve to wear my stones Reminding me of wrongful tones So here we are with past regrets Little stones that never forget
