Darkness loomed above, My spirit soared swiftly, Overcome, I drifted to sleep; Awoken by an angel so profound, Standing silently in my doorway, The son returned from distant lands. Face-to-face, we reconciled, Our painful, vast divide finally closed. And I, restored, was lifted high, Touched by a heavenly presence, I sighed.

darkness loomed
Darkness loomed above, My spirit soared swiftly, Overcome, I drifted to sleep; Awoken by an angel so profound, Standing silently in my doorway, The son returned from distant lands. Face-to-face, we reconciled, Our painful, vast divide finally closed. And I, restored, was lifted high, Touched by a heavenly presence, I sighed.
I found this piece recently, written years ago, but it feels timely.
