I saw the galaxy in your eyes Millions and millions of stars Aligned together in blissful harmony Dazzling, thrilling, captivating Every time I’d look in them I would fall Deeper and deeper I’d drift among millions of diamonds And with every passing second more would appear More ravishing than the ones I had seen before With every grain of sand falling through an hourglass I would become more greedy To have that galaxy all to myself I was addicted To have those stars shine just for me For them to be as exquisite as the best champagne Only for my eyes Was my biggest desire I craved to indulge in them Every second, minute, hour of the day They were mine after all Only mine Those stars My biggest weakness And dearest fixation And then one day They were gone And like a drug addict in withdrawal Without them   I was deserted of any gaiety The euphoria I felt was was extinguished When I would search for them I would find bleak emptiness Their glow was dissipated And so was mine The immense burning I felt To find myself once more drifting among the stars Dreaming to fall once more Into that ocean of sparkling diamonds Was eating away at me from inside I came to the realisation that it is true The stars don’t shine for those not worthy of them And greed is the deadliest weapon Which ultimately destroyed my beloved constellations
