During my high school days, I created a unique DIY picture frame using popsicle sticks.
It had a motivational phrase, “Life is what you make it,” inscribed on it. I felt proud when I showed it to our teacher, because I made it from scratch.
However, her snickering made me feel ashamed and doubtful about my work.
I was convinced that it wasn’t a good project and that she was mocking me.
But now, I wonder if my teacher’s snickering was because the phrase resonated with her, and she wasn’t actually criticizing my work as I had assumed.
