Dancing in my dreams I'm only dancing in my dreams, For you no longer hold me When I need your strong embrace I will get along My hopeful heart is very strong, And you will not define me, Though no one can take your place There are other joys to know, And I'll embrace them so, Every moment, every year, And when my days are through, I'll still remember you, And maybe even shed a little tear Yes, I will be okay No, you can't hold me, we can't sway, But I still have my dreams I'm still dancing in my dreams. This poem was written for a courageous lady who, through illness, lost both legs, yet refused to give up on living the best life she could. Read it again, this time from the perspective of that optimistic and determined soul.
