i am the night watchman

i am the night watchman

that creeps and crawls inside your skin

and slithers through your mind

stealing pieces of you to build up pieces of me

…say, that’s a lovely memory there

i think i’ll keep it for my own

and in its place i’ll leave you this…or this…

or…

don’t you ever wonder why you wake up screaming?
