Three pieces of chocolate to say I love you.
A whole phrase, a full mouth,
sweet and complete.
But in Filipino, it takes only two:
Mahal kita.
Two little syllables, two small chocolates,
a stingy way
maybe
to save a word as beautiful as I love…
Yet somehow, those two pieces melt slower,
linger longer,
and taste even sweeter
on the tongue.
