Three dead birds on highway squashed, Roadway washed with corpses discarded as carrion, To be chewed upon by companions in a world of brothers, In a world of blood and guts, A lone magpie was seen, A sure purveyor of doom, Gloom and sorrow, For birdies splattered, No tomorrow, Perhaps they saw him too, Didn't show him due respect, They'll never know if they had regrets! Superstitious!
