The ocean crashes on the shore
As I lay on the floor
I hear the whispers in the wave
Saying they can give me the peace I crave
I walk along the sand
Rocks in my hand
The water laps at my feet
As I stare blankly on in defeat
I walk further into the sea
The water is now all I can see
I feel my heart slow down
Stones in my pockets pulling me until I drown
I let my pain release
As I finally find my peace

This was written for a writing magazine prompt. While it was not ultimately accepted as a poem for the magazine, I still had fun with it.
