My world was shivering,
I was shivering too.
”Do you have a heart?”
He asked,
Then said, “No, you don’t, or perhaps not—
It’s so far, so far, like a distant star.”
A trembling ache in my chest,
The breeze trembled too.
”Do I exist, in my being?”
I asked,
He said, “No, beloved, you have been—
fading, fading, and fading.”
