I had mistaken the embers for ashes. I passed by, blind to the fire, betraying the flames and leaving the phoenix for a more prescient pilgrim.

I had mistaken the embers for ashes. I passed by, blind to the fire, betraying the flames and leaving the phoenix for a more prescient pilgrim.
