I remain silent, yet speak to you In a thousand voiceless ways— A glance, a sigh, the pause between The hollow and the blaze. You listen my quiet words, You hear the unspoken rain— My every trouble, my every ache, My deep, invisible pain. Only you see the tears I hide Where ocean meets my eyes, The drowned-out storms, the ghostly tides, The sorrows I disguise. You are the healer of my hurt, The balm upon my chest— You ease my pain with gentle hands, And give my wounds a rest. So let the world hear nothing true— You know. You stay. You soothe. In your quiet care, I mend anew. In your silence, I find truth.

The Silence You Hold
